I'm extremely sorry for my lack of social outgoing, not returning phone calls, texts, and even falling through on plans. I've been so over-the-top busy lately-almost to the point where I feel like my head is going to explode. I'm working full-time with a photographer during the "9 to 5" then return-home try to get a quick bite to eat- then go to my studio for the next 7or9 hours.
This apology goes out to my friends and family, my fellow NHIA grads, and the few of you who actually view this blog. I deeply apologize that I have been so disconnected, and if you get the impression that I am uninterested in the goings-on of your life's. I do care.
I'm sorry for my complete and under lack of posts on this and my Bloodsells Account. I only hope that what Ian has the time to post is satisfying your needs for now.
I promise you this will change when my portfolio is completed and I know what school I shall be attending for my masters. If I haven't told you, or you haven't asked theses are schools I'm applying to-in order of preferred attendance:
New York Academy of Art
Indiana University
Syracuse
Boston University
Tyler school of visual arts
SVA
Penn State University
The above picture is what I have been working on, for those of you think I'm not doing anything, you're mistaken. There are also two more paintings I'm working on that are not in this picture-that being the other half of the diptych of myself-first painting pictured in the bottom right-hand corner. The second is 5th painting in my memories series( my senior thesis project)- it's a depiction of me shaking my head and gesturing to pay forward- i am also wearing a purple sweater.
So a little bit about you're looking at in the picture above.I'm defining this as my purple period. It's a little bit of a play off of Picasso's blue periods But with a twist and subject matter. Let me start with stateing the fact- despite what you may think and some of you may know. I am actually quite religious. I may not acted it or preach upon it, and my actions don't always reflect it- but i am.
So if you're asking yourself,"Why is he painting so much purple?", answer is simple. Most colors in Catholicism have deep meanings such as the color purple, I don't want preach about it or even give you an art history lesson, so if you want to know what it is you look it up. that being said, the subject and the paintings, and the overall theme might make a little more sense.
I'm sorry I don't have the time to describe each painting. I will do so once they are photographed individually for my portfolio. Also I should have three or four more large drawings like the ones on the floor done by then.
