My deepest apologies
I'm extremely sorry for my lack of social outgoing, not returning phone calls, texts, and even falling through on plans. I've been so over-the-top busy lately-almost to the point where I feel like my head is going to explode. I'm working full-time with a photographer during the "9 to 5" then return-home try to get a quick bite to eat- then go to my studio for the next 7or9 hours.
This apology goes out to my friends and family, my fellow NHIA grads, and the few of you who actually view this blog. I deeply apologize that I have been so disconnected, and if you get the impression that I am uninterested in the goings-on of your life's. I do care.
I'm sorry for my complete and under lack of posts on this and my Bloodsells Account. I only hope that what Ian has the time to post is satisfying your needs for now.
I promise you this will change when my portfolio is completed and I know what school I shall be attending for my masters. If I haven't told you, or you haven't asked theses are schools I'm applying to-in order of preferred attendance:
New York Academy of Art
Indiana University
Syracuse
Boston University
Tyler school of visual arts
SVA
Penn State University
The above picture is what I have been working on, for those of you think I'm not doing anything, you're mistaken. There are also two more paintings I'm working on that are not in this picture-that being the other half of the diptych of myself-first painting pictured in the bottom right-hand corner. The second is 5th painting in my memories series( my senior thesis project)- it's a depiction of me shaking my head and gesturing to pay forward- i am also wearing a purple sweater.
So a little bit about you're looking at in the picture above.I'm defining this as my purple period. It's a little bit of a play off of Picasso's blue periods But with a twist and subject matter. Let me start with stateing the fact- despite what you may think and some of you may know. I am actually quite religious. I may not acted it or preach upon it, and my actions don't always reflect it- but i am.
So if you're asking yourself,"Why is he painting so much purple?", answer is simple. Most colors in Catholicism have deep meanings such as the color purple, I don't want preach about it or even give you an art history lesson, so if you want to know what it is you look it up. that being said, the subject and the paintings, and the overall theme might make a little more sense.
I'm sorry I don't have the time to describe each painting. I will do so once they are photographed individually for my portfolio. Also I should have three or four more large drawings like the ones on the floor done by then.

Well hello again art world, sorry I haven't keep you updated at all this summer. So let's start with a fresh one now. I've moved into my studio and have everything set up, I have three things in process and pieces done. I would love to say that I've been busy, but I'm not quite sure if busy is the right word.
I started a series of work based around the idea of the absence of memory and how my words in gaps of time- this really isn't the post to get into it- i'll explained my thesis later, but for now here are two finished works that I've done this summer so far

Updates updates updates
So here's a little bit of what I've been up to now that the semester is finally over, I'll have way more time to post on this and keep my fellow friends up to date. I have painted a lot since my last update( as you can clearly tell)I started a new painting and finished- it's of my friend Robert.I've also had some time to scan in some images from a sketchbook I made over last summer. I have one week left of classes and that I'll be moving back home to Scranton to work on my portfolio for My masters degree.
this is a little self-portrait I did for my math final, yes yes I know I'm a senior in college and I took freshman level math class, but it was fun. I wanted to post this because it's probably one of my best portraits I've done in pencil. So these are my final paintings from a senior thesis, as you can tell the third one you've never seen on here before. I pretty much crammed my ass in the studio and busted it out in two weeks and I'm pretty proud of it, it is a good friend of mine that I've known for quite some time now. He is also a fellow artist and you check his work out here.
On Friday we were told where our show was going to be. Patrick McKay, our Dean, informed me that I'm in the French building main gallery, and that I have the center panel as well as the adjacent panel to the left. I guess all my hard work and restless nights from overthinking really paid off.
So theses are some of the sketches from that handmade sketchbook, I didn't post all them because I really don't like all of them.
This is a drawing from a painting that I really like and for some godforsaken reason can't remember the name of the artist
This is a drawing of an old friend of mine that I did because I recently saw her and thought it what would be fun to do a portrait of her
these next two portraits I did for my head, this was my first attempt to draw my face from my head, I don't think it's half bad but it isn't the greatest thing I've ever done, and the girl was just something I was thinking of , and actually really looks like my friend Elly LaBranche- but there is no connection

updates
so ive been in the studio a lot lately, maybe even too much. This is whats become of the paintings so far, i printed out some black and white copies of them today and plan on doing a few drawings over them. I'm also hoping to get two more paintings started soon for the end of the year, one being Robert Dodd who I've known for quite some time now and one of a very good friend who really inspires me Aaron Mitchell
so here they are, comets questions, concerns, and love thought are always welcome
oh yeah, there still not done...

I really haven't said much about what I'm doing in this blog. One of the main reasons I started this blog was just so I could show my family the artwork I was doing at school. I guess it's also nice for other people to see what I'm doing when I'm locked away in my studio. So I guess this is a sum of things I've been up to.
